Dr Valentina Vitale has recently joined Camden Equine Centre as an Equine Medicine Registrar. Valentina is Italian and studied at the University of Pisa where she finished her studies in 2007 then continued with a PhD in equine physiology between 2009-2012. After completing an internship in equine medicine and surgery at the University of Barcelona she worked in a private practice in Milan (Italy) as an intern veterinarian and anesthetist. Following her internship, Valentina worked as volunteer long term veterinarian for The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust (a UK charity society) in a remote village in The Gambia. Valentina then did her residency in equine internal medicine at the University of Barcelona from 2015 up to 2018.
Valentina has a 16-year-old border collie and a cat called Bambina who live in Italy with her family as she was unable to bring them to Australia due to strict policy on animal importation. Valentina also likes drawing and has created a book of illustrations on equine internal medicine directed to the students. It’s now in the hand of a European editor to see if it will be published.
Valentina has recently acquired Board-certification for the European College of Equine Internal Medicine. Congratulations Valentina!
